New Delhi: NHAI has issued an SOP to stop disputes at toll plazas on national highways and to strengthen security arrangements at these places. In the SOP, NHAI has sent detailed guidelines to the officials. Along with this, a special campaign has been started at toll plazas. Under this, NHAI in collaboration with professional psychologists is conducting training for toll employees to control anger and take care of customer convenience. Under this link, the first training has been given at Murthal Toll Plaza (Haryana). Similar training will be given to the employees of other toll plazas across the country. According to the SOP, NHAI field officers will ensure that the toll collection agency performs its duties properly. The workers of the toll plazas will wear the prescribed uniform and will also wear badges. If there is a dispute on the toll, the manager of the toll plaza and the lane supervisor will try to resolve it. Lane supervisors will wear body cameras, which will record the entire incident of violence. If a motorist acts arbitrarily, it will be a record. Under no circumstances will toll employees resort to inciting language or violence. The workers of the toll plazas will be able to take help from the police and if the matter does not calm down, they will be able to lodge an FIR. Toll workers can call the police if the vehicle occupant assaults or damages toll property. The field officers of NHAI will have the responsibility to verify all the toll employees with the police. Along with this, the toll revenue collection agency has been asked to submit a monthly report of any dispute, conflict, beating or violence to the project implementation report of NHAI.
