
4 people died due to the collision of a vehicle with a stone on the Jammu Kashmir National Highway
Jammu, September 12 A truck fell into a deep ravine on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway early this morning after being hit by a landslide, killing 4 people on board. The police said that the movement of vehicles was stopped after a landslide on the highway near Sherbibi in Ramban district at around 5 am.

The police officer said that the truck was going from Jammu to Srinagar. Police officials said that the local people and the police immediately started the rescue operation and pulled out all the 4 bodies stuck in the truck. Officials have identified the deceased as truck driver Mohammad Afzal Garu of Kulgam, his brother Altaf Garu, Irfan Ahmed of Anantnag and his brother Shaukat Ahmed.
Police officials said that around 6 animals being taken in the truck for domestic use were also killed in the accident. According to officials, the highway was blocked due to the landslide. It is the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country. He said that efforts are on to clear the road so that traffic can be restored.
