Selection of Applicants for Paddy Straw Handling Machines on 23 July 2024 - Deputy Commissioner

Nawanshahr - The campaign by the Punjab government to stop the burning of paddy straw in the year 2024 is going on fast. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa informed that the selection of applicants for subsidy on paddy straw cleaning machines for Crop Residue Management Scheme 2024 will be held on 23 July 2024 at 11:00 am. to be done at the DC office. He invited the farmers applied in this scheme to participate in this election.

He appealed to all the farmers of the district that no farmer should set fire to the paddy straw to prevent pollution of the environment.
 In this regard, Chief Agricultural Officer of District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Dr. Rajinder Kumar Kamboj, informed that a total of 2357 paddy straw harvesting machines are available in District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. In which in-situ machines like super seeder, surface seeder, happy seeder, mulcher, smart seeder, zero till drill etc. and ex situ machines like baler, rake and crop reaper etc. are available. The details of these machines are available on the app "i-khet" machinery prepared by the department. He appealed to all the farmers not to set the stubble on fire and to plant more trees.
