
Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur released a documentary dedicated to National Mango Day 2024
Hoshiarpur - During a function organized under the aegis of District Administration Hoshiarpur to observe the day as “National Mango Day”, Komal Mittal, IAS Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur released a documentary film and painting highlighting the rich heritage and significance of mango orchards of Kala Bagh, Village Bhunga, Hoshiarpur. The painting has been prepared by Harpreet Sandhu, former Additional Advocate General of Punjab, author, nature artist and heritage campaigner in collaboration with District Administration Hoshiarpur.

The painting has been prepared by Harpreet Sandhu, former Additional Advocate General of Punjab, author, nature artist and heritage campaigner in collaboration with District Administration Hoshiarpur. Additional Deputy Commissioner (C) Hoshiarpur Rahul Chaba, Deputy Director Horticulture Jaswinder Singh and District Development Fellow Zoya Siddiqui were also present on the occasion. After releasing the artwork and documentary film, Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal, IAS said that Hoshiarpur is famous for its lush greenery and fertile land which is ideal for cultivation of a variety of fruits especially mango which is a symbol of agricultural excellence, rich natural heritage and a testimony to the Hoshiarpur region. He said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is taking all possible steps to ensure clean and green environment in the State under the Green Movement.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the innovative work of nature artist Harpreet Sandhu for highlighting the significance of mango orchards in Hoshiarpur on the eve of National Mango Day. This will help in bringing the rich heritage of Hoshiarpur district and the attractive natural places of Hoshiarpur district to a wider audience. Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal, IAS also stressed the importance of preservation and promotion of local agricultural practices and traditions. “Our mango orchards are a testimony to the hard work and dedication of our farmers. It is important that we continue to support and promote them, to ensure that future generations can appreciate and benefit from our rich agricultural heritage.”
