Dear Children The Right to Information Act 2005 is an important law passed by the Central Government The information of which can be very important for us. It is very important for all the citizens of the country to be aware of the importance of this law. The Right to Information Act 2005 is an important law passed by the Central Government Through which the information of the government and semi-government institutions of the country except the intelligence information of the Indian Army, Ministry of Home Affairs and any such information, which is a threat to the integrity of the national unity, can be obtained sitting at home.
Information can be obtained from any department within 30 days by placing an Indian Postal Order of Rs 10 through a simple request under Section 6 (1) of this Act. One page information is provided free of charge. But information for more than one page has to be given to the concerned department at the rate of Rs.2 per page. In case of non-receipt of information, the first reminder period is 30 days and in case of non-receipt of information, second reminder is to be given.
The time of which is also 30 days only. If the concerned department does not provide information even for three months, then a complaint is made to the State Information Commissioner Who has to resolve it by calling the complainant and the head of the concerned department within 30 days. In case of failure of the department to appear before the Information Commissioner, the head of the department can be fined from Rs.500 to Rs.25 thousand by the State Information Commissioner and as a punishment for this neglect, the head of that department is objected to in the service record. goes
Right to Information Act is proving to be an effective law in today's times. But due to time delay it is becoming a tragedy for people. The three months time given to the department and the one month given by the State Information Commissioner to get the information out of a total time of four months destroys the real importance of the information received. Delayed information is sometimes useless. There are many departments which under political patronage do not care and do not provide information even after many months.
An important aspect of this tragedy is that no punishment other than fine has been prescribed for the officer who did not inform. Due to which many heads of departments do not care and forget their responsibility. In today's times it is important that every common man gets justice and therefore it is necessary that the loopholes in the Right to Information Act 2005 be removed so that it becomes an important law.
