This year, with the onset of summer, there has been a severe shortage of drinking water in Adarsh Nagar and residents are protesting due to non-supply of water for the past one week. Ashok Kumar, Chatar Singh, Surjit Kumar, Guljar, Pramod Kumar, Deepak and Nanu Lal of Ward No. 13 of Adarsh Nagar said that every year in the hot summer days, the water supply from the government tubewell is very bad and many Due to non-availability of water for many days, the people of this place are waiting day and night for water to come and when water does not come, they have to call for water tankers. He said that the water tankers charge 400 to 700 rupees while only half a tanker of water comes in their tanks, but they take the money in full.
He said that there is no fixed time for releasing water from the government tube well, due to which many people do not know about the water supply or they release the water in the afternoon when people have gone to their work.
He demanded that the time of release of water from the government tubewell should be fixed so that no one has to face water shortage. He said that if the water supply from the government tubewell is affected, then the MC here should solve the problems of the people.
In this regard, Amandeep Kaur, councilor of ward number 13, was contacted and her husband Labh Singh said that the employee who leaves the water supply in this ward is admitted to the hospital, so there is a problem, which will be solved soon.
