Seven smugglers arrested, passengers checked at railway stations under "Caso" operation

Patiala, April 2 - As per the instructions of Punjab Government, Patiala Police has launched a special campaign against drug traffickers. Police launched Operation "Casso" today after arresting seven smugglers on Monday. During this operation, passengers were checked at all the railway stations of Patiala district.

A search operation was conducted at Patiala Railway Station under the supervision of DSP Sanjeev Singla, in Rajpura under the supervision of SHO Princepreet of City Rajpura and in Nabha under the supervision of Kotwali Nabha SHO Gurpreet Samrao. SSP Varun Sharma said that this search operation has been conducted to strengthen security in view of the Lok Sabha elections so that smugglers and criminals can be caught. A team of police officers has arrested Sonu Sharma from Shergarh on charges of smuggling 15 grams of heroin. SI Karamjit Singh of Bhadson police station arrested Harmangat Singh and his accomplice Anjam Muhammad Raimajra along with 100 drug pills near Skarli. Apart from this, the Anaj Mandi police team has arrested Ratinder Singh and his accomplice Sumit Kumar from Faganmajra village along with 150 drug pills. Ghagga Police has arrested Karamjit Kaur red-handed with 24 bottles while selling country liquor at home. Apart from this, the Pasiana police team has arrested Harvinder Singh, a resident of Amamgarh village, with 13 bottles of illegal country liquor.
