Patiala March 26 - During a police checkpoint near gate number 22 here, the police personnel narrowly escaped when a car driver broke the checkpoint and escaped. The police have registered the FIR by noting the number of the vehicle. The driver of the car has not yet been identified, due to which the officials of the Police Station Civil Line are tracing the owner of the car to identify the accused.
According to the statements of the ASI stationed at the checkpoint, they were at the checkpoint along with the police party when a car with Patiala number was seen coming, on which the police light was on.
On the basis of suspicion, the police team signaled the driver to stop, but he broke the barrier and escaped. No one was injured in this incident. A case has been registered against the car driver. Coordination is being done with the Transport Department to trace the owner of the car.
