In a statement issued here, Mr. Sharma said that the Punjab government is claiming through advertisements that there is no shortage of money in the government treasury but there is a lot of lag in the payment of pensioners. He said that cases have also been filed in the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court regarding payment of pay commission balance by the pensioners, but the orders of the court are not being followed.

Mr. Sharma said that thousands of pensioners of Punjab have passed away waiting for DA and Pay Commission dues. But the Punjab government does not care about the welfare of its pensioners The result of which the Punjab government will have to bear in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that the code of conduct can be implemented in the country anytime, so the government should release the funds to pay the pensioners without any delay.
