SAS Nagar, January 31 - Senior Congress leader Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhali Kalan has alleged that the Punjab government is not repairing the link roads damaged during floods last year.

Showing the cracks on the link road from village Chadyala Sud to Machhali Kalan during the monsoon floods, he said that the floods during the last monsoon had made the condition of this road like hell and so far despite the passage of almost 8 months, the concerned department or The district administration did not even understand the need to repair the deep potholes and cracks on this road and due to the 5-5 feet deep cracks on this road, an accident can happen at any time.

He said that when the link roads of these villages located in the outskirts of a big city like Mohali are in such a bad condition, it can be easily predicted what will be the condition of the roads in the rest of Punjab. He said that a big highway is being constructed very close to this road, but due to the complete neglect of this link road by the administration, there is a lot of protest among the residents of the area.

He said that along with the construction of the highway, it is very important to take care of the link roads of the villages because the link roads only serve to connect the rural areas. He warned the administration and the officials of the concerned department that if it is not repaired as soon as possible, they will be forced to wage a big struggle against the Punjab government and the concerned department.
