Patiala, January 13 - According to the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sahni, the people living on the streets of Patiala city were brought to Ran Basere today by the District Child Protection Officer Patiala, Municipal Corporation Patiala and Police Department. Following the cold alert, the team brought the homeless people sitting near Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib, Barandri Bagh, Mall Road and Leela Bhavan to the slums.

Giving information in this regard, District Child Protection Officer Patiala Dr. Shaina Kapoor said that acting under the instructions given by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni, the team explained to the people sitting at the said places. And made aware about the negative effects of cold on health. He said that most of the people supported the team to go to Rain Basere. The team included Inspector Vishal Sharma from the Municipal Corporation, Superintendent Sanjeev Garg and his staff members, Sukhdev Singh and Parminder Singh from the Police Department, Rohit Goyal, Puneet Singla from the Municipal Corporation.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni has told about the rain shelters That the Patiala district administration has built shelters for the needy in all sub-divisions of the district. Where in this cold weather, the homeless and needy people who spend the night on the roadside are being provided with bed and roof over their head and other necessary facilities to sleep at night.
The Deputy Commissioner said that these shelters have hot water for bathing, first aid kit, clean beds, CCTV cameras, RO water and fire extinguishers, clean hygiene, toilets and security.
