
Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian visited Fish Poong Farm
Patiala, January 10 - Punjab Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian paid a surprise visit to Fish Poong Farm village Bagarhia Faganmajra today. On this occasion, MLA Jalalabad Jagdeep Goldi Kamboj and officials of Fisheries Department were present with him.
Patiala, January 10 - Punjab Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian paid a surprise visit to Fish Poong Farm village Bagarhia Faganmajra today. On this occasion, MLA Jalalabad Jagdeep Goldi Kamboj and officials of Fisheries Department were present with him.
On this occasion, he also emphasized on the farmers of the state to get out of the crop cycle and adopt ancillary businesses. He said that farming should be done according to the recommendations of the Department of Agriculture and the University so that the business of agriculture can prove to be more profitable. Also appealing to them to take up fish farming, goat rearing and other ancillary businesses, he said that such businesses prove to be useful for strengthening agriculture economically.
He said that the department also provides free training for ancillary businesses, which farmers and youth should take maximum advantage of. He also said that subsidy facility is also available for starting such businesses.
The cabinet minister said that a fish farm has been built in 32 acres in village Bagarhia Faganmajra. Where 6 types of fish are bred and their eggs are supplied across the state. He said that one thousand seeds are made available for 100 rupees.
