
The district hospital of Hoshiarpur won the second place from across the state - Dr. Swati
Hoshiarpur - Under the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by the government in 2015, Kaya Kalpa program was started in health institutions. The main objective of this program is to provide quality health facilities to the common people in government health institutions. Talking about this, Senior Medical Officer in-charge Civil Hospital Dr. Swati said that during the year 2023-24, the district hospital under the Kaya Kalp program got 89.10% marks and got the second place in the state.

Dr. Swati said that during the checking of Kaya Kalp, all the departments of the hospital like emergency, blood bank, MCH wing, laboratory, radiology and wards are checked on the basis of 300 check points. In 2012, the same Friendly Check List was also added to the Kaya Kalp programme, out of which District Hospital Hoshiarpur scored 91.43%. Under this programme, special efforts are made to clean the government hospital, maintain records, dispose of bio-medical waste and save electricity keeping the public interest in mind. This is a special initiative of the Punjab government to provide facilities at par with private hospitals in government hospitals. Senior Medical Officer Dr. Manmohan Singh expressed happiness and said that behind this achievement of the Civil Hospital is the tireless work and dedication of the entire staff of the hospital. On this occasion, AHA Dr. Shipra and all the staff of the hospital were present.
