Ghanoor, December 30 - The Limited President of Rural Chowkidar Union Reg: Ram Murthy Sogalpur has demanded that full salary be paid to the chowkidars working under the revenue department across Punjab.

Speaking at Tehsil Complex Ghanoor, he said that the rural watchmen are being paid less than the DC rate and the government is exploiting the rural watchmen (labourers) by paying less than the fixed wage.

He said that since 2005, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has decided to pay the salary according to the DC rate, but despite giving a demand letter to the Punjab government for a long time, the Punjab government has not increased the salary of the rural watchmen.

He demanded that the rural watchmen should be paid according to the DC rate, the work of maintaining the birth and death register should be entrusted to the watchmen as before and summer and winter uniforms should be given to them.

He said that a demand letter has been sent to the labor department through email, and justice has been demanded regarding the payment of wages less than the fixed wages.

Dhanna Singh Jandamngholi, Raghbir Singh Chamaru, Harbans Singh Mahriyan, Feroze Khan Darwa, Som Nath Kami Kalan etc. were present with him on this occasion.
