SAS Nagar, Dec 30 – The deep ground due to excavation on both sides of the road to widen the main road leading from the local Phase 7 lights to Gurudwara Amb Sahib could ever lead to a major accident. The lack of lights at this place and the fog that falls today (when the visibility of motorists is further reduced) increases the risk of an accident.

Joint Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal and former president of District Urban Mohali Jaswant Singh Bhullar said that the administration had started the work of this road more than two years ago during which the poles of the street lights on the side of this road were also removed. The trees on the roadside were also uprooted. He said that despite the lapse of two years, the work of this road has not been completed and piles of soil have been placed on both sides of the road, along with the deep space dug on the side of the road can sometimes cause an accident.

He said that every day a large number of pilgrims come to Gurudwara Amb Sahib on foot on this road and due to pitch blackness and thick fog, no major accident can happen. He said that it seems like the administration is waiting for a major accident and that is why no action is being taken in this regard.

They demanded that the piles of soil lying on the banks of this sunk should be removed and the banks should be leveled. Along with this, lights should be arranged here so that loss of life and property due to any major accident can be avoided here.
