4783.35 crores of loans have been given by district banks under the loan scheme for the year 2023-24 - Komal Mittal

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that a total of Rs 4783.35 crore loans have been given by various banks of the district till September 2023 under the loan plan year 2023-24, out of which Rs 3421.12 crore are in priority sector and non-preferred. 1362.23 crores of loans are included in the sector. He said that in the priority sector, Rs 1651.59 crore for agriculture, Rs 1620.41 crore for non-agricultural sector, Rs 149.12 crore for other priority sectors have been given as loans. The Deputy Commissioner directed the banks to focus on increasing the CD ratio, so that more people, especially the educated unemployed youth and people from the weaker sections of the society, can get loans and start economic activities to raise their standard of living. can He also instructed self-help groups to give maximum loans and provide information about various schemes. He also asked to speed up the process of granting loans under government programs in agriculture and small industries-businesses, service sector. He also directed the banks to insure maximum number of poor people under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana.
Circle Head Sanjiv Kumar said on this occasion that the amount deposited in banks in Hoshiarpur district, which was Rs 39346 crore in September 2022, has increased to Rs 42843 crore in September 2023. Similarly, the total loan amount given by banks, which was Rs 11117 crore in September 2022, has increased to Rs 12137 crore in September 2023.
Chief Lead District Manager Rajesh Joshi said on this occasion that 3448 farmers have been issued Kisan cards worth Rs 93.99 crore by the banks of the district. On this occasion, District Hoshiarpur PLP 2024-25 prepared by DDM NABARD was released by Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal. Officials of District Industry Centre, SRLM/NULM etc. and DCOs of all banks were present on this occasion.
