Nawanshahr - Instead of celebrating the martyrdom day of great mother Gujri and Sahibzadeh as a symbol of Lasani sacrifice, Kirti Kisan Union village Urapar organized a seminar dedicated to these historical martyrdoms in which the women of the village, farmers and others Villagers participated enthusiastically.
Addressing the audience on this occasion, Advocate Daljit Singh, Buta Singh Mahmudpur, Dhadi Gurdeep Singh and Master Narinder Singh said that the historical Sikh struggle was not against any particular religion or religious sect, but against oppression, injustice and the arbitrariness of absolute power. There was a struggle for truth and justice. Behind which is the ideology of creating a fearless populist society based on commonality and equality by eliminating casteism and all forms of inequality. The essence of which is the struggle to protect human rights and human dignity. The Gurus created a history of martyrdoms and sacrifices as per the need of the time against the ruling forces of the time and other retrograde forces that bound the people in mental slavery ideologically, socially and politically. The ruling classes and religious orthodox forces keep the common people away from the true inspiration of this glorious history by glorifying the martyrdoms. While the interests of the society and the demand of the time is that the real spirit of that long struggle should be imbibed by constructive discussion on the history of sacrifices and martyrdoms and the gist of historical events should be used as inspiration for the struggle against the present forces of evil. The speakers said that today the ruling classes of Lotu Nizam are violating human rights in the whole world and in our own country. The major examples of which are the genocide, sexual violence and killings against women in the tribal areas of Palestine, Kashmir, Manipur and India for greed and aggressive interests. In India today, the minorities and other oppressed and working people are grinding in the mill of oppression of the BJP government. The speakers said that wherever human rights are being violated in the world today, raising voice against it and standing with the oppressed party is to remember the martyrdom of Sahibzades and other martyrs in the true sense.
On this occasion, a unanimous resolution was passed and demanded that all the prisoners, including the intellectuals and political prisoners and the Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences, who were imprisoned under false cases without trial, should be immediately released.
