SAS Nagar, November 7 – Yadavindra Public School Mohali won the Runners Up Trophy in the Under-14 All India IPSC Cricket Championship held at BK Birla Center for Education, Pune.

SAS Nagar, November 7 – Yadavindra Public School Mohali won the Runners Up Trophy in the Under-14 All India IPSC Cricket Championship held at BK Birla Center for Education, Pune. Last year's Under-14 champion Y. PS Mohali was defeated by Modern School Barakhamba Road, New Delhi in the final.

Major General T.P.S. Waraich, Director of YPS Mohali, said that All India I.P.S.C. Top 21 schools of the country participated in the Under-14 Cricket Championship, YPS team took part under the leadership of coach Praveen Singh.

He told that earlier in the semi-final match of the tournament, Y. P.S.Mohali B.K. Hosted. Chasing the target of 87 runs, Birla Center for Education was defeated in 19 overs. During the quarter final match against Mayo College Ajmer, YPS Mohali set a target of 121 runs in 20 overs, but Mayo College failed to score only 100 runs in 19 overs.

During the competition Y. PS Mohali captain Harjagateshwar Singh Khaira was adjudged the best wicketkeeper of the tournament. Khaira made 11 players his victims behind the wicket, in which he also assisted in 5 stumpings, 5 cut-behinds, 1 run-out and 4 run-outs.
