Una, September 5 - The Una district administration has taken another unique initiative under its special program 'Samarthya' dedicated to the empowerment of women and youth. Under this initiative, 7-day free self-defense training camps will be organized across the district to teach self-defense techniques to the girls and women of the district.

Under this initiative, 7-day free self-defense training camps will be organized across the district to teach self-defense techniques to the girls and women of the district. Along with self-defense, training will also be given in health, fitness, morale development and practical experience. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that trained and experienced experts will make women proficient in self-defense techniques in these camps, which will not only empower them, but will also make them feel self-reliant and safe.
He reiterated the administration's commitment to promote women's safety and self-reliance through such efforts as well as to further strengthen women empowerment in the society.
All women can participate, register by September 15
The Deputy Commissioner said that along with school-college students, housewives and working women can also participate in these training camps. He said that interested girls and women should contact the principal of their nearest government college and get themselves registered by 15 September.
