Photo not mandatory on registration form for female Sikh applicants to make SGPC vote: District Election Officer

SAS Nagar, August 19:- District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain said that it is no longer mandatory for female Sikh applicants to affix a photo on the registration form to get SGPC vote.

SAS Nagar, August 19:- District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain said that it is no longer mandatory for female Sikh applicants to affix a photo on the registration form to get SGPC vote.
These registration forms for making votes can be submitted till 15th September 2024 in the Nagar Panchayat/Nagar Parishad/Municipal Corporation office, concerned Patwaris and SDM offices.
According to the letter issued by the Chief Commissioner Gurdwara Elections, as per reports received from the field, some female Sikh voters are reluctant to affix their photos on the registration form.
Therefore, affixing photos on these forms has been made optional for women. If any woman wants to put a photo on the form, she can do so and if she does not want to put a photo, that form will also be approved.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to go ahead and make votes in these elections.
