The Punjab Government has given more than Rs 81.23 crore benefit to about 77,965 pension beneficiaries of the district.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 19 – The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann is working day and night to provide the benefits of government schemes to each eligible beneficiary. Accordingly, about 77,965 beneficiaries of various pension schemes of Social Security Department in the district have been paid about Rs.081,23,53,500/- from January 2024 to July 2024.
Sharing this information, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain informed that from January 2024 to July 2024, about 06,239 beneficiaries of dependent pension will get about Rs.06,48,36,000, about 06,821 Divyang pensioners will get about Rs.07,09,65,000. About Rs. 017,35,68,000 has been paid to widow pensioners and about Rs. 050,29,84,500 has been paid to about 048,195 beneficiaries of old age pension.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab Government is taking various steps for the progress of the state, while the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to make the benefits of government schemes reach the people. He said that instructions have been given to the officers of various departments to make people more aware about the policies of the government.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to take maximum advantage of these schemes. He also appealed that the eligible beneficiaries should get the benefits of these schemes from their nearest service centers in addition to "Aap Di Sarkar Aap De Dwar" of the Punjab Government in villages and cities.
