Similarly, the teachers' group under the leadership of teacher leader Pawan Kumar and Ashwani Rana, the President of Purani Pension Restoration Struggle Committee Satpal Minhas and a group of pensioner colleagues under the leadership of Shri Sarup Chand and Balwant Ram left for the rally venue. At this time, angry slogans were raised against the Punjab government by the employees and pensioners. During this, the leaders said that when the Morcha had given notice of the rally during the Jalandhar by-election, the Chief Minister had held a meeting with the Morcha leaders and fixed the date of the extended meeting on July 25, but the Chief Minister did not meet on time and fixed the next date of the meeting as August 2.
But this time also, instead of fulfilling his promise, the Chief Minister has completely cheated the employees and pensioners by fixing the next date of the meeting as August 22, due to which there is widespread anger among the employees and pensioners of Punjab. Now the Morcha has decided that if the Chief Minister does not find any proper solution to the demands of the employees and pensioners in the meeting of August 22, then the employees and pensioners will reach the areas of the upcoming by-election and demolish the anti-people policies of the AAP government.
The demands of the employees and pensioners include restoration of all abolished allowances, restoration of old pension, making temporary employees permanent, applying 2.56 multiplier to pensioners, bringing honorarium workers under the purview of minimum wage, filling vacant posts immediately and stopping the privatization of government departments.
At present, leaders and workers of various organizations including Gurnam Singh Hajipur, Pandit Pawan Kumar Garhi, Joginder Singh Dhahan, Vinod Kumar, Jagdish Lal, Naresh Baga, Harjinder Suni, Raman Kumar, Satish Kumar, Parminder Pakhowal, Ajay Rana, Head Master Sandeep Kumar, Naresh Bhammian, Gopal Das, Babu Parma Nand, Dilbag Singh were present.
