Garhshankar - 'Vrikash Raksha Bandhan' was celebrated at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar by SESREC and NSS unit with the support of 'National Azu Trust of India'. Meanwhile, the staff and students of the college started an environmental awareness campaign by tying emotional hugs to the trees of the college campus, their villages, taking a pledge to protect the environment, plant more trees and take care of them.
Apart from this, the students and staff motivated the people of their respective villages to plant more and more trees and protect them so that a healthy environment can be provided to the coming society. On this occasion, the principal of the college, Dr. Amandeep Hira, praised the efforts of SESREC coordinator, Dr. Manbir Kaur, to connect students, volunteers and society emotionally towards the environment and inspired them to continue conducting such programs in the future.
