
Tribute given by Rotary Club to the martyred soldiers in Kargil

Hoshiarpur - Rotary Club of Hoshiarpur held a special meeting under the chairmanship of President Sneh Jain at Rotary Bhawan in which former District Governor Surinder Vij, GS Bawa and Arun Jain specially participated. The club commemorated the martyred soldiers on the occasion of Kargal Vijay Divas, whose sacrifice India repelled the enemy forces and won again. The club paid tribute to the martyred soldiers by observing a two-minute silence. On this occasion, President Sneh Jain and Secretary Timatani Ahluwalia said that every year July 26 is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas to remember the sacrifices made by the soldiers in the Kargil War. On this day, the Indian Army captured all the Indian outposts in Kargil, which were occupied by the Pakistan Army.
PDG Surinder Vij said that this conflict was started by the then Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf without the knowledge of the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. The consequences of which Pakistan got its 'international defeat'.
