Nawanshahr - According to the directions of Civil Surgeon Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Dr. Jaspreet Kaur ji regarding the various health programs being run in the district, Deputy Group Education and Information Officer Tarsem Lal from the Civil Surgeon's office today informed about the various health programs being run by the Health Department. Regarding health programs, health education was given at Sugar Mill Nawanshahr, Punjab Taxi Stand Nawanshahr, Sutlej Service Station Nawanshahr, Coca Cola Godown Nawanshahr.
In which awareness was given to bring health services to common people. He also raised awareness under the prevention and awareness campaign of Malaria, Dengue under the National Vector and Water Borne Control Program from July 1 to August 31 during the rainy season.
He said that "Population Stabilization Fortnight" will be observed from July 11 to July 24 under which more and more people were encouraged to take advantage of various health schemes and health services running in the district. He said that a special campaign related to family planning is being conducted from June 28 to July 24 under various health services. Under this campaign which will last for about a month, "Couple Contact Fortnight" is being celebrated by the Health Department from June 28 to July 10. In which the health workers of the health department are reaching out to eligible couples and encouraging them to adopt permanent and temporary means of family planning according to their needs. This year, Population Day is being celebrated by the Health Department under the theme "New Identity of Developed India - Family Planning is the Dignity of Every Couple".
 He said that "Population Stabilization Fortnight" is being celebrated from July 11 to July 24. Under which family planning health services will be provided to eligible couples by organizing special camps at various health institutions. He informed that eligible couples will be provided health services with the help of health workers at health institutions and maximum number of eligible couples are being encouraged to take advantage of the population stabilization fortnight. He appealed to all eligible couples to make maximum use of this fortnight.
 Along with this, he said that we have to work together to control the deaths of children due to diarrhoea. He said that diarrhea is a common problem. The main reason for its occurrence is viral or bacterial infection. This problem is often faced due to consumption of contaminated water and food. Due to diarrhoea, various symptoms appear in the human body. These include vomiting, dehydration, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, swelling and bleeding in the stool. He gave information about the method of making and feeding ORS solution. He said that if ORS solution is given to the child in case of thin diarrhoea, it acts as a life saver.
Along with this, he gave health education about hand washing through Suman's formula.
