Patiala, July 4 - MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli held a meeting with the officials of Municipal Corporation, Powercom and L&T regarding the development works of Patiala city and the affairs of the people here at Municipal Corporation. On this occasion, the MLA scolded many officials and gave strict instructions that slackness in the development works will not be tolerated and also gave instructions to do people's work on priority basis.
The MLA also said that if someone complains, the head or in-charge of the concerned department will be responsible A report will be prepared and sent to the government. MLA Kohli said that the L&T Company has the work of laying new water pipelines in the city, which has imposed a fine of 8 crores due to its negligence. He said that the company has been told again that people should not face any problem due to broken roads. Therefore, all work should be completed on time.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aditya Dechwal was also present on this occasion. After receiving the report from all the departments, the MLA said that it is our first responsibility to solve the problems of the common people and also the promise of the government that no one's work will be suspended. Because of this, if any official tries to harass the common people or hangs their work unnecessarily, strict action will be taken against him. Along with this, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli received a detailed report from all the departments and also said that if the work of any department is not complete, then they should prepare all the papers and bring them till the next meeting.
The MLA said that in the coming rainy season, there will be an abundance of mosquitoes, due to which fogging is necessary. This time it has been decided that every ward should be given a fogging machine so that fogging can be done in every street and neighborhood on time. These machines will be able to enter small streets. He said that with the intention of providing clean drinking water to the people, 7 ROs are being installed at different places in the city. At Dhamomajra, drinking water pipe line work including streets and sewerage is continuously going on, now the remaining works will be completed soon with a budget of 67 lakhs.
Ajitpal Singh Kohli ordered the Municipal Corporation and L&T officials present in the meeting that many new water tanks are being built in the city for the purpose of starting the Canal Waste Project soon, while the old and unsafe tanks in many places should be demolished soon. Orders have been given to build new tanks in their place. He said that this work should be started soon so that people do not face any problems.
