Polling completed peacefully in Hoshiarpur district

Hoshiarpur - The polling process for the Lok Sabha elections in Hoshiarpur district was completed peacefully. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today visited various polling booths and reviewed the polling process with SSP Surendra Lamba to conduct fair, transparent and fear-free elections.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today visited various polling booths and reviewed the polling process with SSP Surendra Lamba to conduct fair, transparent and fear-free elections. They were also keeping a strict watch on all the 1963 booths of the Lok Sabha As a result of which polling could be completed peacefully in the district. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal exercised his right to vote by lining up at the booth built in the office of the Town Improvement Trust of Vidhan Sabha Constituency 43-Hoshiarpur. While he boosted the enthusiasm of the voters who came to vote, he also boosted the morale of the polling staff.
The District Election Officer thanked the voters who voted with full enthusiasm and also appreciated the polling staff, various teams, cells and police administration for making the voting process a success. He said that after the voting for Lok Sabha elections-2024, the votes will be counted on June 4 under strict security arrangements.
He said that the counting of assembly constituencies Hoshiarpur, Mukerian, Dasuha, Urmur, Chabewal, Bhulath and Phagwara will be held at Riyat Bahra Group of Institute Hoshiarpur. While the counting of Vidhan Sabha constituencies Sri Hargobindpur Sahib and Sham Churasi will be held at Multi Skill Development Centre, ITI Hoshiarpur. He said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, proper arrangements were made in all the assembly constituencies of the district, due to which fair, free and peaceful polling has been successful in the district.
The District Election Officer inspected all the booths in the district, especially the sensitive polling booths, through the Poll Activity Monitoring System Room in the District Administrative Complex, Hoshiarpur. While inspecting the booths through webcasting, he also spoke to the concerned presiding officers on phone and gave instructions to ensure polling as per the instructions of the Election Commission. He asked the concerned election staff to perform their duty as per the rules and full responsibility while checking the polling booths. He also said that if any problem comes up at any booth, they can be contacted immediately. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and SSP Surendra Lamba along with General Observer Dr. R. Anandkumar and Expenditure Observer Pawan Kumar Khaitan visited the booths of Government Kanya Smart Senior Secondary School Railway Mandi and reviewed the voting process.
The District Election Officer said that the voting percentage in Lok Sabha constituency Hoshiarpur was 9.66 by 9 am, 22.74 per cent by 11 am, 37.07 per cent by 1 pm, 44.65 per cent by 3 pm, 52.39 per cent by 5 pm.
