SAS Nagar, May 22:- Now only 10 days are left for the voting for the Lok Sabha elections and along with this the political situation in the constituency is slowly becoming clear. Although more than two dozen candidates are trying their luck from Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, but the political activities of the constituency and the trend of the voters indicate that this time the competition in the constituency is multi-faceted.
In this election, the main competition is seen between Congress Party candidate Vijayinder Singla, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Malvinder Singh Kang and BJP candidate Subhash Sharma and Akali Dal candidate Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra. In the meantime, the votes for Bahujan Samaj Party and Shiromani Akali Dal candidates who entered the election field can spoil the calculations of these leading candidates and the margin of victory and defeat of the candidates contesting the election is also to remain small.
If we talk about the last time (2019), Mr. Manish Tiwari of the Congress party won from the Anandpur Sahib constituency by securing 428045 votes, while in comparison to him, the candidate of the Akali BJP alliance, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, secured 381116 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Sodhi Bikram Singh got 146441 votes. Apart from these candidates, Aam Aadmi Party's Narendra Singh Shergill got 53052 votes, CPM's Raghunath Singh got 10665 votes, Akali Dal Taksali's Bir Davinder Singh got 10424 votes while the rest of the candidates got less than five thousand votes. . Last time a total of 1087727 voters exercised their right to vote out of 1698876 voters.
The Aam Aadmi Party, which formed the government in Punjab after achieving a great victory in the last assembly elections, is not looking as strong as last time. And this time the party is not likely to get the same results as before but its condition is not so thin either. The Aam Aadmi Party, which is fighting in alliance with the Congress party across the country including Chandigarh and Haryana and Delhi, is contesting elections separately in Punjab. And because of this, where questions are being raised about him, there is bound to be an impact on the performance of the party. The ruling party is also facing the wrath of the employees, pensioners and other organizations of Punjab due to which it is bound to suffer a lot.
On the other hand, the Akali Dal and BJP will suffer a lot if the Akali BJP alliance, which contested the elections together last time, tries its luck separately this time. And the position of both the parties is 'Hum to Dubegen Sanam, Tumhe Bhi Le Dubegen'. The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders still have the support of the votes they get in the name of Ram temple, but the Akali Dal has not yet recovered from the damage caused by the blasphemy and its condition is also looking thin. These two parties have contested the election separately during the last assembly elections, during which both of them were badly defeated.
All the main candidates have their own statistics and their own claims regarding these elections. Regarding this, the Congressmen are saying that a large part of the disaffected votes against the government has to come to them. And the disgruntled employees of the government in favor of him, the ruling Aam Aadmi Patri says that his victory is certain based on the performance of the government in the last two and a half years. The Akali Dal is also claiming that the youth section of the party, which was alienated by the Aam Aadmi Party, has returned and the victory of the party is certain. And the BJP candidate hopes to get votes in the name of Prime Minister Modi and the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Political experts are also saying that while the votes to the Bahujan Samaj Party will damage the Congress, the votes to the Akali Dal Ammitsar may spoil the calculations of the Akali Dal Badal.
All the candidates contesting the election are claiming their victory, but nothing can be said about what is in the heart of the voter. It is to see which of these candidates' tallies match the election results after voting.
