Garhshankar May 14 - The Aam Aadmi Party government's indifference to forest fires and the rise in temperature due to the burning of wheat and the toxins dissolved in the air, Labor Party President Jai Gopal Dhiman has spoken strongly. Condemning it, he said that despite bringing the matter under the attention of Divisional Forest Officer and Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Mrs. Komal Mittal, no meaningful action was taken.
Dhiman said that the way the Punjab government is neglecting the environment is extremely dangerous for humanity and is not enough to prevent pollution and rising temperature. While the pollution and the burning fires can be easily stopped if the Punjab government wants And even the environmentalists of the government have disappeared in their huts. In the peak afternoon in the extreme heat, instead of crackling the forest and the baby trees, birds etc., the sound of the fire was so terrible that it could be heard far and wide. He said that the Forest Department and the Wildlife Department neither have full staff nor basic resources. Due to which the Punjab government is causing heavy damage to the forest. He said that in May 2022, the Punjab government tried very hard to stop the burning of farm waste and wheat grain with great effort, but everything was limited to the threshold of Delhi media. Doesn't the smoke of Punjab go to Dili now and it used to go only when there was Congress and Akali Dal government in Punjab.
Dhiman said that in the Kandi area, the villages of Lalwan, Khanni, Fateh Pur Kothi, Maili etc. are full of forests. But due to the indiscipline and negligence of the Punjab government, the forest is being destroyed at a rapid rate and a large desolation is being seen in the forest. He said that by allowing Aam Aadmi Party cadres to destroy the forest and do their work at will instead of the rules, signs of destruction are being given. He said that the fires in the Kandi area are harmful to the geographical situation of the entire Punjab. If the importance of forests is not taken seriously, Kandi area will be desolated in future. He said that the forests are completely drying up. There is no such thing as moisture in the forest. Dhiman appealed to the people of Kandi area to unite to protect the forests from fires and illegal cutting and unite against the forest mafia.
