Camps will be held in Anganwadi and primary schools to make Aadhaar cards for children

Patiala, August 22 -Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Madam Kanchan today took stock of the ongoing work of Aadhaar card making and Aadhaar updation for children in the review meeting of the district level Aadhaar committee. And he gave orders to speed up the updation work of building Aadhaar.

During the meeting, he insisted on making Aadhaar registration mandatory for children aged between newborn to 5 years and said that Aadhaar updates for children aged 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years should also be ensured. He said that Aadhaar cards will be made for students by holding special camps in Anganwadi and primary schools. Additional Deputy Commissioner Madam Kanchan also appealed to the district residents that those citizens who have not got Aadhaar card can go to their nearest service center to get Aadhaar card and Aadhaar card can also be updated.
Madam Kanchan said that the record of newborn to 3-year-old child is available with the Anganwadi workers and the record of 3-5-year-old child is available with the Education Department. By reading this record, such children have been identified whose Aadhaar cards have not been made yet. He appealed to the residents of the district to keep updating their mobile numbers and documents with Aadhaar to avail various government facilities.
