In this regard, for the last two weeks, large-scale distribution of leaflets in labor yards, colonies, mandis and factory areas, meetings, street meetings, and postering to make the laborers aware of the glorious history of the 1st May Labor Day and the importance of celebrating this day. The campaign was launched, and the message was being given to the laborers to attend the conference on a large scale. Jagdish Singh, president of the Textile-Hazari Workers Union, said that the first day of May is celebrated in the memory of the labor martyrs of Chicago, America, who sacrificed their lives for the implementation of the eight-hour working day.
The workers of all the world remember their martyrs with enthusiasm on the first of May, worship their sacrifices and take inspiration to unite for their rightful struggles in the coming time. This day guides the workers of all over the world to rise above the divisions of country, nation, caste, religion, race etc. He said that in the current world conditions, when the capitalist-imperialist looting has become more intense than any time before, therefore the importance of the International Labor Day has increased today. The fascist Modi government at the center is constantly trying to divert people's attention from the real issues like inflation, poverty, unemployment and sow communal poison in them, and the state governments too, whether they belong to any party, are anti-labour privatization, liberalization and globalization. They are making people's lives difficult by encouraging policies.
Due to rising inflation, laborers are having to work 12-14 hours a day to meet household expenses. People-friendly facilities are being raided. Black laws are being passed to silence the voices raised against the divisive policies of the people. In such a dark time, the laboring population needs to stand in the field of struggle with flags on sticks. Therefore, they appealed to all the workers to attend the conference in large numbers tomorrow.
