District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora and Ramandeep Singh ATO are continuously checking school buses.

Nawanshahr - As per the guidelines issued by Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa (IAS), school buses are being checked continuously by the entire team to ensure safe school vehicle policy in different blocks of the district. Giving this information, District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora said that the team checked school buses in Balachore Block and Raho Main Chowk in a single day.

Giving this information, District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora said that the team checked school buses in Balachore Block and Raho Main Chowk in a single day.
During the checking, a total of 20 school buses were checked, including 9 school buses of Balachor and 11 school buses of Nawanshahr and a total of 10 buses (five in Raho and five in Balachor) were challaned for violating the rules. Also, 2 school buses were impounded in Balachore.
   They said that female attendants were not found in the above school buses, drivers in many buses did not have licenses and vehicle documents, along with this, CCTV cameras were not in working condition, speed governors were not installed in some buses. And at the same time, the name of some schools was not written. Among the schools checked were the buses of KC Public School, Norwood School, Mount Carmel School Balachor, Saraswati School Balachor, Prakash Model School Balachor, Guru Ramdas School, Adarsh Bal Vidyalaya, Happy Model School. He said that if the school management inspects its school buses on a routine basis, any accident involving children can be avoided in the future. ATO Ramandeep, who was present on the occasion, said that if any school bus is found violating the terms of the Safe School Vehicle Policy, appropriate legal action will be taken against the concerned school management and the driver. This checking can be done by the team at any time. He appealed to the school management to update the school buses by April 30 keeping the safety of the children at the forefront so that the safety of the children can be ensured in the future. District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora from Transport Department Ramandeep Singh ATO, Inderjit Singh DEO, and Rajinder Kaur Child Protection Officer from District Child Protection Unit, Tarsem Lal and Jaswinder Singh ASI from Traffic Police Balachore were present in the checking team.
