The police arrested two people who were looting

SAS Nagar, April 17 - Mohali police have arrested two persons who beat up a person with a sword and a stick and took away a mobile phone, 300 rupees in cash and a gold chain in Kumbhara village yesterday. Both these villages are residents of Kumbhara. DSP City 2 Harsimran Singh Bal said that these persons were arrested by the police under the direction of SSP Mohali Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg, SP Investigation Dr. Jyoti Yadav and SP City Harbir Singh Atwal under the leadership of anti-social elements and looters. The arrests have been made under a special campaign against looters.

He said that a migrant man, Majrub Subam, had complained to the police that on April 16, when he was returning from duty at around 4:30 a.m., two unknown men stopped him in the street of village Kumbhara and assaulted him at the point of a stick and a sword. After beating him, they robbed him of his mobile phone, Rs 300 in cash and a gold chain and escaped.
He said that a case was registered under Section 392, 323 of the IPC in this regard in police station phase 8 and the matter was investigated under the leadership of the police station chief during which the unidentified persons were identified and arrested with the help of cameras. .
He said that the robbers have been identified as Suraj Chauhan resident of village Kumbra and Arvinder Singh resident of village Kumbra. The stick and sword used during the incident have also been recovered from both of them and apart from this, the mobile phone and chain stolen from the accused have also been recovered.
He said that during interrogation, both of them have admitted that they have committed many more incidents with migrant tenants in Kumbra village and many other incidents are expected to be resolved. He said that both of them have been remanded in police custody for 2 days and their questioning is going on.
