Patiala, April 9 - Additional District Magistrate Madam Kanchan exercised powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974) on water tanks constructed within the limits of District Patiala (villages and towns). Climbing for any kind of demonstration is prohibited.
In these orders issued by the Additional District Magistrate, it has been said that regarding the events taking place in the district, various organizations, unions and the general public are protesting by climbing on the water tanks built in cities and villages to get their demands. Protesters risk their lives too. Due to many such incidents in the past, there is a fear of disruption of the law and order situation. Therefore, it is necessary to take appropriate steps to maintain the law and order situation and maintain public peace. These orders will remain in force till June 5.
