Patiala, April 9 – Additional District Magistrate, Patiala Madam Kanchan, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974) within the limits of Patiala district on weddings or other occasions of happiness or Then any kind of program has also banned the bursting of firecrackers to control the pollution problem. These orders will remain in force in the district till June 5, 2024.
  According to the orders passed by the Government of Punjab, Department of Home Affairs and Justice and the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court in Civil Writ Petition No. 23548 of 2017, ban on bursting of crackers to control the problem of air pollution. It is very important to apply. Especially at weddings or other happy occasions, or any event, in which firecrackers are set off. A total ban should be imposed so that the health of the general public does not face any harm along with the protection of the environment.
