Nawanshahr - District Bureau of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training under the able leadership of Shri Navjotpal Singh Randhawa Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman District Employment and Business Bureau, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Shri Rajeev Verma Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Bhagat Singh Nagar is helping the youth of the area in employment, self-employment as well as career planning and providing a proper guidance for future employment.

Giving information in this regard, District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer Sanjeev Kumar said that from time to time, the Bureau conducts special camps to provide employment and career related information to students studying in educational institutions. He said that today about 40 students of B.Ed (Integrated) from Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar visited the bureau. The District Employment Officer welcomed the students to the bureau and gave them information about the field of teaching as well as other related fields where they are eligible for employment. Jasveer Singh Career Counselor gave detailed information to the students about the activities of the Bureau and psychometric test (personality) of the students was conducted and they were informed about the career options accordingly.
Placement Officer Amit Kumar gave information to the students about different types of jobs and websites related to these jobs as well as information about educational qualification and age limits. Ms. Hina Bhatia, Young Professional informed the students about the importance of National Career Portal and the services available on the portal. Prof. Naresh Kumari and Prof. Manisha Rani were also present from the college on this occasion.
