Nawanshahr - A district level advisory committee meeting was held today at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, District Administrative Complex under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma. He also directed that regular inspections should be carried out to ensure the quality of mid-day meals in government schools and Anganwadis and proper storage of raw materials for making mid-day meals. He instructed the food safety team to ensure media coverage of awareness activities. The representatives of the education department and the district program officer should also improve the cleanliness arrangements in the kitchen for preparing mid-day meals in government schools and angandis so that there is no compromise with the quality of food for children.
While instructing the District Mandi Officer, he said that special attention should be focused to ensure cleanliness arrangements in Mandia. He instructed the District Program Officer to ensure registration of Anganwadis under the Food Safety Act. At the end of the meeting, hygiene rating certificates were also distributed to Bhagatji and Dolphin restaurants.
