Mahilpur, March 25 - Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji Kaharpuri Memorial 23rd Annual Athletics Meet was organized by Post Graduate Physical Education and Sports Department of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur here. In this athletics meet, the students of the college participated in various sports competitions and won many honors. SBI Assistant General Manager Kundan Kumar attended as the chief guest during the sports event while the sports event was presided over by Sikh Educational Council President Sant Sadhu Singh Kaharpur, General Secretary Prof. Apinder Singh, Virinder Sharma, GDC Samaj Foundation Hoshiarpur owner Shamsher Singh, Director Atul Verma, Hockey Coach Tarlok Singh, Jaildar Gurinder Singh Bains, Wing Commander Hardev Singh Dhillon and Surinder Sharma did it. On this occasion, the college principal Dr. Parvinder Singh shared the welcome words and gave information about the sports achievements of the college. On this occasion, Chief Guest Kundan Kumar saluted the students from different march pasts and in his address encouraged the students to participate more in sports activities along with academic studies. On this occasion, in addition to the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m runs of the students, high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin throw etc. were enjoyed by the audience. On this occasion, Akash Sahni from the boys category and Surekha Jat from the girls category won the title of best athlete in various athletics competitions of the degree college. Similarly, under the athletics competition of Sant Baba Hari Singh Memorial BD College, Mandeep Kaur won the title of good athlete in the girls category and Rohit in the boys category. On this occasion, the chief guest Kundan Kumar gave an aid amount of 50 thousand rupees to the college, while Shamsher Singh, the owner of GDC Foundation, gave 11 thousand rupees and hockey coach Tarlok Singh also gave 11 thousand rupees. Gurjit Singh Pabla, Wing Commander Hardev Singh Dhillon, Ramanpreet from Raman Medicos and Daljit Singh Bains, who were specially present during the athletics meet, also provided five thousand rupees to the college. On the occasion of the ceremony, the head of physical education department, Dr. Rajkumar shared words of gratitude. On this occasion SBI Branch Manager Vikas Bhanot, Gurdayal Singh Kaharpur, Principal of BED College Dr Rohtash, Dr Jatinder Kumar, Prof Iqbal Singh, Prof Priya, Prof Anudeep, Prof Simran, Prof Manpreet Sethi, Prof Bikram Chandel etc. All the staff and students of the college were present.
