
PRINTING OF PAMPHLETS, POSTERS ETC. DURING GENERAL ELECTIONS TO LOK SABHA-2024.
The General Elections to Lok Sabha have been announced by the Election Commission of India on 16.3.2024 and with the announcement of the Election Programme, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force. As per the election schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the Polling of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency will be held on 1st June, 2024.

??With the announcement of Elections, the restrictions on the printing of pamphlets, posters etc., has come into force. As per Section 127-A of the Representation of People Act, 1951, all the election related pamphlet or poster etc., printed or published should bear on its face the names and addresses of the printer and the publisher. Any violation in this regard would invite stern action including imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months under the relevant laws.
??For the printing of any election pamphlet or poster, the publisher shall deliver to the printer a declaration of his identity duly signed by him and attested by two persons personally known to him. After printing of the document, one copy of the printed such declaration together with one copy of the document is to be sent by the printer to the Chief Electoral Officer of U.T., Chandigarh Nagar Yozna Bhawan, Plot No.3, C-Wing, Sector-18, Chandigarh within 72 hours. The written directions in this regard have been issued by the Returning Officer, Sh. VinayPratap Singh, IAS to all the printing presses located in U.T., Chandigarh for strictly compliance.
??Further, any process for multiplying copies of a document, other than copying it by hand, shall be deemed to be printed and the expression "printer" shall be construed accordingly. Any violation of the above law shall be viewed seriously and stringent action will be taken against the offenders as per law.
