Una, March 18 - In view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in the district till the completion of the election process. To ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that all the taxi/truck/tempo/three wheeler operators of the district will be in favor of any candidate without the permit obtained from the competent authority during the Model Code of Conduct. For publicity purposes, one cannot use posters on vehicles, loudspeakers and other publicity materials. He said that doing so is a punishable offense under the Representation of the People Act 1951.
Jatin Lal said that flying squads and static teams have been formed for this purpose during the Lok Sabha elections in the district. He said that to avoid seizure of vehicles by flying squads and static surveillance teams, no vehicle can be used for campaigning in favor of any political party or candidate without obtaining a permit from the competent authority.
