Una, March 14 - National Human Rights Commission's Special Monitor Bal Krishna Goyal visited Prem Ashram and Observation Home Samurkalan in Una district on Thursday and took stock of all the facilities being provided.
He said that the main objective of National Human Rights is to go to the ground and ensure whether the citizens are getting the human rights given to them or not. There is no violation of human rights given to citizens. Along with this, it is also to be ensured whether the schemes being run by the Central Government and the State Government and all the laws and acts are being completely followed or not. He told that during his stay in Una, Hamirpur and Kangra of Himachal Pradesh, his main justification is to inspect the children's educational institution, district hospital, PHC, CHC and prison.
He said that during his stay in the state, he will get complete information so that the citizens do not face any problem. If the rights of citizens are found to be violated in any way, a detailed report will be prepared and sent to the Chairman National Human Rights Commission on the basis of which further action is taken. He said that under Article 21 of the Constitution, citizens have the right to live with their human dignity and all aspects of life.
He informed the District Deputy Commissioner about the findings under the Juvenile Justice Act during the inspection and gave necessary guidelines in this regard. Apart from this, he inspected the institute till late night.
On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Varindra Sharma, DPO Narendra Kumar, Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep Singh, CWC Chairperson Una, Principal Sister Sanjana, Sister Neelam Meenakshi Rana were present.
