
Darshan Singh 'Asht' was elected the president of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Patiala for the ninth time
Patiala, March 10, Biennial election of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha (Reg.) Patiala was held today at the lecture hall of Department of Languages, Punjab Patiala. In which Shiromani Punjabi Children's Literature Writer, Sahitya Academy Children's Literature Awardee and State Awardee Dr. Darshan Singh 'Asht' (Punjabi University, Patiala) was unanimously re-elected President of the Sabha for the ninth time for the year 2024-2025.

In which Shiromani Punjabi Children's Literature Writer, Sahitya Academy Children's Literature Awardee and State Awardee Dr. Darshan Singh 'Asht' (Punjabi University, Patiala) was unanimously re-elected President of the Sabha for the ninth time for the year 2024-2025.
Eminent scholars Dr Gurbachan Singh Rahi, Babu Singh Rahal and Sukhdev Singh Shant were elected as Patrons, Davinder Patialvi as General Secretary and Balbir Singh Dildar as Finance Secretary. Dr. Harpreet Singh Rana and Surinder Kaur Bara were elected as Senior Vice Presidents While Dr. Rajwant Kaur Punjabi, Raghbir Singh Mehmi, Hari Singh Chamkam, Eng. Satnam Singh Mattu and Sharanpreet Kaur were elected among the vice presidents. Sukhdev Singh Chahal, Dr. Trilok Singh Anand, Amar Garg Kalamdan (Dhuri), Balwinder Singh Bhatti, Dr. Arvinder Kaur Kakra, Dr. Amar Komal, Jaswinder Singh, Kulwant Singh Narike, Karamveer Singh Suri, Baldev Singh Bindra, Harbans Singh Manakpuri, Hardeep Kaur Jassowal, Dalip Singh and Dr. Santokh Singh Sukhi were inducted. Likewise, Krishan Lal Dhiman was elected as Assistant Finance Secretary, Gopal Sharma Marishandheri as Secretary, Satish Vidrohi and Charan Puadhi as Deputy Secretaries. Navdeep as Publicity Secretary. Singh Mundi and Gurpreet Singh Jakhwali, Hardeep Sabharwal and Sukhwinder Singh Chahal were selected as Assistant Publicity Secretary. Amarjit Kharod, Joga Singh Dhanula and Captain Chamkaur Singh Chahal were elected for the post of organizational secretary and assistant organizational secretary. Advocate Dilip Singh Vasan has been appointed as the legal advisor of the council.
Satnam Kaur Chauhan, Asha Sharma, Kamal Sekhon, Rajwinder Kaur Jatana, Kuldeep Kaur Dhanju, Gurwinder Kaur were selected as women-writer members for special contributions in various literary fields. Jagga Ranguwal, Raj Singh Badhouchi, Gurdeep Singh Sagu, Inderpal Singh and Kirandeep Kaur, Sharwan Kumar Verma, Khushpreet Singh, Sukhwinder Singh and Rajesh Kotia were elected as executive members. While Parbaldeep Singh, Hargunpreet Singh, Kuldeep Patialvi and Prabhleen Kaur were elected as representatives of young writers.
