Nawanshahr - Mukand Lal, the defender of democratic rights, the leading leader of the left wing and rational movement, passed away on March 5. He was the youngest of his four brothers. On their departure the whole family has suffered a great loss. The democratic movement of Nawanshahr area has also suffered an irreparable loss.
His family includes his wife Jasveer Kaur ji, daughter Pooja Rani (UK), another daughter Pankaz Kumari Deputy Director Chandigarh (AIDS Department), one son Rahul Dev D Pharmacy. and another son Sandeep Kumar, daughter-in-law Monika is a much-loved grandson Arnav. Son-in-laws are Manpreet Singh and Baljit Singh. Two sisters are Sheela Rani and Kanta Rani. The whole family was educated, intelligent and living happily in every respect. After his death many years ago, he had given a letter of intent to give his dead body to a medical college for research purposes. On March 7, with the full support of the family members, a large convoy of relatives, friends, leaders of democratic movements, leaders of rational society and other people sent his dead body to CMC Ludhiana.
