Patiala, March 4 - 53,387 children of Patiala district were administered anti-polio drops on the second day of the National Pulse Polio campaign to save children from deadly disease like polio. Giving information, Civil Surgeon Dr. Raminder Kaur said that during the three-day national pulse polio campaign, necessary arrangements were made to administer anti-polio drops to 1,83,478 children up to five years of age in the district.

And on the first day of the campaign, the children who were deprived of drinking polio drops at the booths, on the second day of the campaign, 1844 teams of the health department visited about 2 lakh homes and administered polio drops to 53 thousand 387 children. With which the target of giving medicine to 84 percent of the children in the district has been achieved and the remaining children will be given medicine door to door by the health teams on the third day of the campaign. District Vaccination Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur said that on the first day of the three-day campaign, on Sunday, polio booths were set up in public places and in villages and cities as needed, and children were given drops of anti-polio medicine. He said that the duty of around 4000 staff has been assigned to make medicine accessible to every child.
