Patiala Heritage Festival from 2 February

Patiala, January 29 - Preparations for the Patiala Heritage Fair starting from February 2 are in full swing. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni held a meeting with ADC Anuprita Johal in charge of this fair and the nodal officers of various programs and issued necessary instructions.

Giving an open invitation to all the Punjabis and especially the Patialis to enjoy these events, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken up the responsibility of making Punjab a Rangla Punjab in the true sense. Heritage festivals are being conducted to promote the heritage of different districts. He said that Patiala Literature and Military Literature Festival will start at Khalsa College on February 2 in the morning and in the evening at Mubarak Fort, there will be a classical dance ballet based on Meera by Bharati Kala Kendra for the first time in Patiala and Pandit Subhendra Rao and Sitar and cello performances will be given by Saskia Rao. On February 3, there will be a grand program of the Military Literature Festival at Khalsa College and at 6 pm there will be classical singing by Pandits Laxman Krishna Rao and Mita Pandit of the Gwalior Gharana and a program of Natiya Qawali by Nazir Ahmed Kawal. The Deputy Commissioner said that on February 4 at 10 am Barandri Garden Walk will be held at Barandi Bagh with the support of Patiala Foundation. On the same evening at 6 pm, there will be a pop show of popular Punjabi singer Gurnam Bhullar at Punjabi University, Patiala. A heritage walk at Fort Mubarak under the Heritage Walk on February 10 and a dog show under the 60th and 61st All Breed Championship will be organized by the Patiala Kennel Club at the Polo Ground on February 11 at the end of the Patiala Heritage Utsav.
