The Additional Deputy Commissioner inspected the parade after unfurling the national flag during today's full dress rehearsal at the Police Line Ground. After this parade commander Inspector Jasveer Kaur led by District Police, PRTC Jahankhels, District Women Police, Punjab Home Guards, NCC, Girls Guides, Boy Scouts and Police Band with full enthusiasm and patriotism. A grand march past and salute was given in the spirit of On this occasion, mass PT show, cultural and patriotic program was also presented by the children of different schools and there was drumming of Gidhe and Bhangra. During the cultural program presented by the students, the spirit of patriotism was rising, which was widely appreciated.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba said that on this important day tableaus showing various development works and schemes of the Punjab government will also be taken out. He said that while the freedom fighters will be honored during the ceremony, personalities with unique achievements are also being honored. He said that tri-cycles, wheel chairs and sewing machines will also be given to the needy by the District Red Cross Society. After the full dress rehearsal, he held a meeting with the district officials and instructed that there should be no shortcoming in the arrangements for the district level ceremony. He asked the district police to make proper arrangements regarding security arrangements on Republic Day, while also instructing them to make adequate arrangements for parking. He said that in addition to arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, temporary toilets, etc., the health department should also ensure the arrangement of deploying a medical team. He said that on the occasion of Republic Day, the district level function will be celebrated in an effective manner. He appealed to the residents of the district to attend this ceremony in maximum number. He also asked all the departments to ensure their attendance.
