Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar :- Today a large gathering of retired soldiers of Punjab Home Guard was held at Bibi Amar Kaur Memorial Hall Khatkar Kalan. In which retired jawans from all over Punjab participated. First of all, the retired jawans offered flowers of respect to the statue of Shahide Azam S Bhagat Singh and later a march was held. There was resentment towards the government because the demand for pension was not accepted among the jawans. The retired jawans were of the opinion that till now they have been misled by the people who are struggling regarding pension and the government has always been lying to them. Retired jawans of Punjab Home Guard have warned the government that if their pension demand is not met soon, they will intensify the struggle. The jawans also formed Shaheed Bhagat Singh Retired Home Guard Association Punjab to celebrate pension and other demands. Chhinda 'Raipur Dabba' was unanimously elected as the president of the association. Vice President Swaranjit Singh, General Secretary Kuldeep Nabha, Secretary Jagdish Singh, Treasurer Ravinder Singh, and Avtar Singh Randhir Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, Anup Singh, Balwinder Kumar Shinderpal, Harjit Singh Kapurthala Kapurthala State Committee members were elected. At the end of the meeting, retired home guard Parshotam Lal was honored by the association with a siropao.
