Under the right to information, the Deputy Mayor has asked that when Mohali city has become almost equal to Chandigarh and its population has also increased significantly, how many policemen and officers are working in Mohali city compared to Chandigarh.
He has also asked how many police stations and police posts are functioning in the city and apart from this how many other police departments are functioning in Mohali. The Deputy Mayor has questioned how many constables, head constables, ASIs, sub-inspectors and inspectors are working in different police departments apart from these different police stations and police posts. Apart from this, he has also sought information about the posting of DSP level and above officials in Mohali.
The Deputy Mayor has also asked whether there is a separate wing for VIP duty in Mohali, as the policemen are largely doing VIP duty.
He has asked how many personnel and officials have been deployed to control the traffic and what other steps are being taken to streamline the traffic system. They have also sought information that they should be told how many more new police stations and police posts are being built for Mohali city.
