
Daughter-Son Equality Day was celebrated by wearing 'Kudiyan di Lohri' at Nirvanu Kutia Mahilpur.
Mahilpur, (January 12) - Like every year, Daughter-Son Equality Day was celebrated today at Nirvanu Kutiya Mahilpur by celebrating Lohri with daughters. On this occasion, all the girls including new born girls and boys who participated in the program were specially felicitated by Hon'ble Jai Krishna Singh Rowdy, MLA of Garhshankar Constituency, Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Jai Krishna Singh Rowdy said that we should provide equal opportunities to girls as boys. They should be made knowledgeable and wise by writing. On this occasion, farmer leader Talwinder Singh Heer said that by bringing a change in the thinking of the society, Lohri of girls should also be celebrated like that of boys. At the end of the program, Seema Rani Bodh, President of Jai Bhim Caravan Charitable Society Registered Mahilpur, thanked all the participants. At the end of the program everyone drank tea and water together.
