ADC said that during the year 2023, a target of 720 cases was set in the district in which 819 tuberculosis patients were registered. Apart from this, deaths of 57 tuberculosis patients were also recorded in the district in the year 2023. In view of this, the Additional Deputy Commissioner also gave appropriate guidelines to the Health Department officials to pay special attention to this and reduce the death rate in the district. He said that out of 245 Panchayats in Una district, 88 Panchayats have been identified as Tuberculosis Free Panchayats, in which 30 out of every thousand people were screened for Tuberculosis, 1 TB patient per thousand or less was found. Went. The benefit of Nikshay Nutrition Scheme was given to every tuberculosis patient and the success rate of treatment of tuberculosis patients in that panchayat is more than 85 percent, such panchayats were identified as tuberculosis free panchayats.
Apart from this, ADC informed that out of 96,192 potential beneficiaries, 41,911 beneficiaries have expressed their consent for BCG vaccine to prevent tuberculosis. He directed the employees/officers of the Health Department to reach out to the beneficiaries.
He told that in the adult BCG vaccination campaign, people above 18 years of age in Tahal district who have TB for the last 5 years or have been in contact with a TB patient for the last 3 years and are suffering from diabetes, smoke, are extremely thin. Thin people i.e. those whose body mass index is 18 or less will be vaccinated. Apart from this, all people above 60 years of age will also be vaccinated. He said that this vaccine is absolutely safe. He told that this vaccine given to adults is BCG which is given after the birth of the newborn baby.
ADC also called upon the general public to give their important support to make Una TB free. He asked the officials associated with the TB free campaign to work with devotion to duty to make this humanitarian campaign successful so that it can be successful in making Una TB free.
